Finding Red
In 2017, Carolyn and Jordan connected with Greyt Angels, who guided them in finding the perfect hound for their family. Red, a lovable goofball, captured their hearts while being fostered by Sara. Despite a few health issues, they knew he was the one and eagerly awaited his arrival.
“We adopted our lovable goof Red in 2017. Greyt Angels was beyond helpful and worked with us to find a hound that was the perfect fit for our family. At first we were just hoping to adopt a dog, but we also got to meet some truly amazing people. We first met Red while he was being fostered at Sara’s and we loved him instantly. He had a few health issues they were working through with him so we waited a little bit before bringing him home - it felt like forever!"
Red's Early Days
Red's first days at home were filled with antics. From eating tissues to zooming around the house, he kept everyone on their toes. He even managed to steal a plate of scrambled eggs! Yet, he quickly settled into their lifestyle, becoming an inseparable part of the family.
"We laugh about our first few days with him because he was into literally everything. He’d try to eat tissues out of the box, do crazy zoomies through the house and once he ate a plate of scrambled eggs off the table. You’d never guess that now because he so quickly settled into our lifestyle."
The Perfect Companion
Red is the epitome of a laid-back dog, always ready to greet visitors with joy. His favorite pastime is sleeping, but nothing excites him more than the sound of a cheese stick wrapper. He loves walks and never turns down a belly rub.
"Red really is the perfect dog for us. He is so easygoing and always happy to see anyone who comes through the door. His favorite hobby is definitely sleeping. He is the epitome of lazy but he never lets us forget that it’s time for food. Nothing wakes him from a deep sleep like the sound of a cheese stick wrapper in the kitchen. He loves going for walks and he never turns down a belly rub."
A Family Bond
Red has adjusted beautifully to life with their son. He soon became accustomed to nighttime cries, often the most rested member of the family. Now, he enjoys bonding over snacks and delights in their son's laughter when he "roos."
"He’s also adjusted super well to our almost 11 month old son. Shortly after bringing him home Red was sleeping right through his nighttime cries. He was surely the most rested one in the family during that phase. Now they bond over snacks dropped from the high chair and our son loves it when Red sings or “roos.”
A Forever Love
Carolyn and Jordan knew little about greyhounds before meeting Greyt Angels, but now they can't imagine life without Red. They look forward to many more years with their perfect companion.
"We really knew nothing about greyhounds before we found Greyt Angels, but we’ve agreed there’s no other kind of dog for us. We hope for many more years with Red!”
